It is a pleasure to work with you on your
health coverage needs. I realize that there are not
many licensed physicians who work as insurance agents and
brokers instead of practicing medicine. While I think
my experience as a physician and my previous dealings with
insurance carriers, HMOs and others as a provider are a
benefit to you as I work with you to identify the best
alternatives in today's complicated markets, I also want to
be sure that there is a clear understanding that when I am
working with you, your employees, dependents, or anyone else
in connection with existing or potential coverage that I am
not acting in any way as a physician or rendering any type
of medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
Here are some of the ways I
think my background works to your benefit:
- After 17 years in the
medical field, I understand the practical aspects of
different types of coverage - HMO vs. PPO, high
deductible vs. low deductible, etc.
- I understand and
appreciate the importance of quality health care.
- I have a lot of experience
understanding and explaining policy language.
- I specialize in health
coverage; people who sell many kinds may not be as well
informed about each.
- Having been at the
delivery end of health care, I assess the client's needs
from a practical perspective.
- I am familiar with the
various types of coverage in the marketplace and the
practical aspects of the differences between them.
- I can help with properly
answering application health questions.
- I am accustomed to
providing personalized service with high standards of
excellence.
However, I do not practice
medicine for my clients, so:
I do not give medical
advice.
I do not diagnose any
condition.
I do not treat any
conditions.
I don not comment on
diagnosis or treatment by others.
It is very important to me that we both understand that
whatever benefits my experience as a physician my bring to
our joint efforts to secure the right health coverage for
you, those benefits do not and cannot include anything
involving my engaging in the practice of medicine.
It is a privilege to work with you with respect to your
health coverage needs.
Thank you for the opportunity.
